What do I Need?
Chapter 1
The referee gave Ted a red card. Then the people on the stands became frantic. They waved their arms and ranted. “What were you doing just now?” Jack was so angry that he shouted out. But Ted didn’t answer. He ignored it and then turned away.
Jack and Ted were both strikers of Loins, a very strong football team. Ted was the most gifted boy in the team, or even in this city. He played so well that everybody knew him. But he was too proud of himself. He even once said he was sick of playing with those idiots. And his team-mates noticed this, especially Jack, who couldn’t stand having training with this arrogant guy. So the mates of Loins hardly ever have the training sessions together.
And in this match, they played against the College Juniors, a weaker team which didn’t have such great strikers. The fans all agreed that Lions would hammer them. They believed Ted could do it. But they changed their mind in only 10 minutes.

Chapter 2
In the first 5 minutes, everything went well. Neither of the two teams scored. Then Lions took a pass and got the ball. At that time, Ted was a bit of tired. He played too many games this month, which made him feel uncomfortable. Suddenly, somebody passed the ball to him, and he controlled it very calmly. But he couldn’t concentrate on it. “Ouch!” He hit someone who looked unfamiliar. Actually, the boy who had been hit down was the captain of College. He was so injured that he couldn’t even stand up by himself. Then the first part of the story occurred. All the team-mates rebuked him. The College Juniors were also in uproar and some of them even booed as their captain was badly injured. Ted was stunned when he received the red card.
Ted knew clearly he broke the captain’s leg. He couldn’t understand why he did that silly thing. And now, he must go back to the bench. “Let him be.” Jack smirked. Ted realized he made such a BIG mistake that they lost a great chance of scoring, however, he didn’t have any chance to change it. “It’s your fault …” the voice swirled around him and Jack even gave him a nasty look when he ran past him. Ted’s heart became empty and cold as ice.
In fact the match didn’t go well without Ted. The score was 2:1 now with Lions falling behind. It was Jack who scored that one goal.

This is me, a true me

作者:宁波外校 初一(7)班 Carrisa

Hello, everyone! My name is Otto. I’m from outer space. Do you know Mars? I’m just from there! There are some differences between me and Earth school students——I am green. Don’t be worried, my friends. Wait till I tell you why?
At the beginning of Mars’ history, we were green. This colour meant——Active Life. The entire world loved it. And it became the most famous and most popular colour in our real life.
On Mars, it has a little water. Of course, it isn’t enough for us. But we are green that we can make water for ourselves! We needn’t use the water from the space. Because we can make water as we breathe in the sun. Just like plants in earth, but we can think!
I was born on 2004 when the city I lived on Mars was celebrated her 60th birth. Now, I’m seven and a half. I’m a boy. I’m an out-going boy. And I like hunting for something. So, in my childhood, I always play tag and hide-and-seek with my friends. Ah~ huh! I still love playing games like those.
My favorite animal is ducks. Mars doesn’t have ducks, but we can see it from the videos from Earth. I love all the things from ducks; I usually flap my arms like wings with ‘quack, quack…’ My voice is good I think. But I can only do it when my parents are not at home. They don’t like me doing it one bit. They always tell me, ‘Please dear, you must be a he-man not a girly man just as you quack like a duck.’
My parents are very strict with me. They always require me to be NO. 1. But when I achieve their target, they never give me a gift or a smile. They think that is my duty. It doesn’t matter, I can do it! They both work in the Science Academy of Mars. They afford to build an industry Mars. It develops its specials. And now they are told to quest for new energy from the Earth. Because they love me, so they bring me out to the Earth. They want me to learn some knowledge. Now I study in Stardust International Middle School.
I love my class! That is a warm classroom! The head tells the other ones, ‘Please take care of our new students——Otto. And give him a hand if he needs it .’Jo is my best friend, forever.
That is me, a common Mars’ person, but a happy boy.

Otto

  作者:宁波外校 初一(7)班 Helen

I am Otto. I’m seven and a half. I am not from Earth. I come from Mars. There are five people in my family: my parents, my younger sister and my grandmother. My father, my sister and I are green. But my mother and grandmother are not because they come from Earth. I can find things very fast and I’m good at finding things. So I often help my family find the things they lost. I can speak Mars language very well. But I can’t speak or understand the language so well. So I often make some mistakes. I lived on Mars with my family.
I don’t think my hometown is very beautiful. Because the sky there is black and I seldom see birds fly in it. The trees are very short and they are not green. My parents tell my sister and me: The people on Mars always ruin Mars. They catch animals and cut the trees. So the Mars becomes extinct soon. So our family comes to Earth. It’s nicer than Mars. I like Earth very much. When I go to the Earth school, I feel very well. Teachers and classmates are pretty friendly. There is a treasure hunt in class. Jo and I win. And so we get treasure chocolate. We share it with our friends. I ’m very happy.
